Bio is coming soon...
Hi, I’m Rachel the lead hygienist in this practice. I graduated in 2003 from the dental hygiene program in Regina, Sk. I’m a Saskatchewan grown girl who always wanted to be in the dental field after I made up my mind in grade 3!
After graduation I worked as a hygienist for 3 years in Saskatoon where I was mentored to be very thorough and have great time management. I enjoyed working in Winnipeg for a change of scenery for a year and a half, but let’s be honest a Saskatchewan Roughrider fan can not live amongst The Blue Bombers for long! Edmonton has been my home since 2007 and I was lucky to find such a great office to work in.
I enjoy spending time with my patients not only focusing on their oral health, but who they are as a person. I strive to make everyone have a positive experience at our office regardless if you are in my chair or not. Sometimes a joke, a story or a simple smile can make a world of difference to someone. Not one person is “just a cleaning” to me. Being comfortable, and relaxed while I am in your space is what makes our appointment together successful. Our previous owner (Dr. Bosko) said to me, “you have one chance to make an impression on your patient so that they choose you as their hygienist.” I have never forgotten that. I strive to make new patients feel welcome and for our long time patients to continue to choose us.While I’m not in the office I am usually with my boyfriend or visiting family back in Sk. I enjoy music concerts, festivals, and Rider games. Gym time with my friends, camping, board games, artsy crafts, and being a foodie are all part of my life on my down time.
Welcome to our practice! I started here in 1992 as a volunteer and immediately knew this was where I wanted to be. One of the first things I learned was the fundamentals of customer service and the importance of treating our patients like family. I have stayed here my entire dental career because of our patients. Our patients are truly top-notch. I love what I do, and I enjoy being part of a professional dental team that provides exceptional dental care. I am happy to answer your questions, schedule your appointments, and make your visits a positive experience.
When I am not at work, you will find me flipping through recipes looking for the perfect one to make for Jeff and our friends. Once I’m in the kitchen, I am supervised by our cat Lilli who sits on a stool at the island patiently waiting to do her quality control taste test.
I am the newest member to this Dental Family. I thoroughly enjoy working with the team at Axis Dental. I strive to build relationships with our patients and find their trust very important and rewarding. I graduated from KDM Dental College in 2014. I am looking forward to expanding my skills and learning new procedures. I take pride in providing our patients with a relaxed and comfortable environment so they always have a positive dental experience. My favourite part of the job is giving someone confidence in their smile.
Outside of work, my biggest and proudest accomplishment are my three beautiful children. There is never a dull or quite moment in our house. We are active in the community with hockey and swimming.
